About Bonnie Killip
Hi, my name is Bonnie and I am a dietitian and professional mind trainer (clinical hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner) from the east coast of Australia.
I help people bridge the gap between wanting to do and actually doing.
Why? Because I spent 15 years of my life living with anorexia nervosa.
For those 15 years I struggled with the incredible frustration and in moments unspeakable shame and desperation over not being able to convert the knowledge and insight I had of what I “should” be doing into actions.
Training as a dietitian and working in the hospital system I saw many others struggle with the elusive steps between what they knew they “should” be doing, what they wanted to do and what they actually did.
I eventually found the help I needed to recover in the form of “mind training” including clinical hypnotherapy that focused on learning to work with instead of against my mind. This new way of looking at things allowed me to bridge the gap between wanting to do and doing and I was able to overcome severe physical and psychological pain I never imagined I would be free from.
After my healing I felt I had to understand what had happened. How had something I had no previous knowledge of – clinical hypnotherapy – helped me recover where 15 years of mainstream treatment had failed?
So, I studied and continue to study biomedical science, nutrition and dietetics, neurobiology, clinical and medical hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming and success coaching with some of the best in the world.
What I learned made so much sense that I knew I had to help others with the practical “how to” overcome the things which had held them back from being who they know they could be, who they want to be and go on to genuinely and authentically succeed in life.
For the past seven years I have been facilitating people like you do this more quickly than you’ve been told is possible, if you’ve been told it’s possible at all.
My vision is that getting help for a health problem, be this physical or mental becomes as simple and straightforward as:
1. Recognising “I have a problem” or there is something which isn’t quite working for me or could be better.
2. Choosing help to change it.
3. Change it.
4. Move on with your now improved life.
I don’t want you to get stuck in the shame, guilt or worry that it’s never going to be ok (that I have been all too familiar with) and make the problem a battle for the next two years, six years, fifteen years or define the rest of your life.
You will always face new challenges and hard things in life but please don’t stay stuck in this one problem for eternity. You are more than that.
I believe health is our most valuable asset and something which has potential far beyond the prevention or management of disease.
Without our health and energy it doesn’t matter how much time or money we have because we cannot enjoy it, which to me is the whole purpose of the short time we have on this planet. To enjoy it!
A little more about me – in my spare time I am most likely to be found in or by the ocean.
I love surfing, sailing, diving, swimming as well as playing with any animals I can get near (I especially love our little dog Luna and randomly birds!) dancing, playing tennis, walking barefoot on the sand, drawing, writing and painting, reading, laughing with my incredible partner, friends and family and especially running around with my energetic and hilarious nephews.
I believe when you are fully connected to who you are and living with abundant energy there is magic and wonder to be appreciated in even the most mundane of moments (including dare I say it, doing the dishes). Today I live from a place of peace and contentment that allows me to make the most of my imperfect life as an imperfect human being because a chance let alone a second chance at life is phenomenal.
